📋 BASIC SHAMPOO FORMULATION GUIDE

Ingredient Percentages (for 1000g batch):

  • SLES 70% - 30% (300g) - Primary surfactant
  • CAPB - 10% (100g) - Co-surfactant and foam booster
  • CDEA - 3% (30g) - Viscosity builder
  • Glycerine - 2% (20g) - Moisturizer
  • Xanthan Gum - 0.5% (5g) - Thickener
  • Euxyl PE9010 - 1% (10g) - Preservative
  • Citric Acid - 0.2% (2g) - pH adjuster
  • Distilled Water - 53.3% (533g) - Base

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare: Sanitize all equipment and containers
  2. Mix Water Phase: Heat distilled water to 40°C, add Xanthan Gum slowly while stirring to avoid lumps
  3. Add Surfactants: Add SLES 70%, then CAPB, then CDEA. Mix gently to avoid excessive foam
  4. Add Glycerine: Stir in glycerine until fully incorporated
  5. Cool Down: Let mixture cool to below 40°C
  6. Add Preservative: Add Euxyl PE9010 and mix thoroughly
  7. Adjust pH: Check pH (target 5.5-6.5). Add citric acid solution drop by drop if needed
  8. Rest: Let formulation rest for 24 hours before bottling
